I think a ´thank you´is in order because you all make me seem so popular here with all the mail I get!! Susan´s letter was received a la casa last night, and I got dad´s letter yesterday morning with mail from katie and phillip today. Very cool.
Also, I was able to view the wedding announcement online and through an e-mail sent to me by dad. I have had several messages via fbook from friends who have seen it. You both look great! :) And I am so excited for you´re wedding. Really. Even if I might look a little fat now that I´ve adopted Spanish eating habits...
I´ve started a mental list of things I´d like mom to bring to Minne. Also, someone should probably schedule me a dentist appointment to have my wisdom teeth removed. I´m teething and it is not comfortable.
It turns out my retainers were not packed (which is weird because I remember trying to fit the container into several of my little bags). Hopefully my teeth won´t be too crooked after 9 weeks.
Nothing new has been going on here. I´m feeling very comfortable in Sevilla, which has it´s pros and cons. Clearly, it´s great to feel okay in a distant and new city, but mostly I´ve seen what it has to offer as far as being a tourist goes, so I just go to class and do my homework, and hang out. Which is what I do at home, and that´s the con. I don´t have a problem not being too busy, but I´d rather not be busy at home.
My class is three hours everday and the subject matter for it is history of the iberian penninsula, with an emphasis on the influences of the christian, muslim, and jewish cultures. The professor is good, and it is more intensive than the last course, so I don´t really have time to doodle or anything.
The general structure of the class is a lecture for the first half, and walking tours the second half. Today we visited the oldest mesquita (mosque) in Sevilla. Yesterday we walked to some main intersections and talked about the design and formation of the city. We also saw pilars left from roman rule thousands of years ago. I thought they were interesting because the bases of the pilars are several yards below ground as so much sediment has collected, building up the earth in the time since they were built.
Tonight the plan is to go out. I was able to sleep for 9 hours last night by staying in, and still slept through my alarm, stretching my siesta for three full hours. The issue with going out is, is the local scene is about a 30, sometimes 45 minute walk if we get lost, from my house. And we usually don´t leave until 11:30. So you can imagine how late it is when we get home. I´d been there a few times last week and knew I would be going back tonight, so I elected to take last night off.
It was a good decision.
Granada this weekend for school. I hope it´s a good trip. I´m in desperate need of a good trip after some of the daytrips I´ve been on.
I´m thinking of you all all the time, love you, miss you!

I think the tone of your entries is very similar to that of dad. (it was a good decision. , e.g.). It really doesn't surprise me that you are exceedingly popular, as far as mail goes. People love you. Like Diana Reed. I wonder if she might drop a note in the mail... I hope you are having an enormous amount of fun - I miss you and can't wait to see you at the wedding! It will be P-A-R-T-Y time!
I am thinking of you all the time too. Always missing you but sometimes worrying about you getting home in the wee hours of the morning, which is about the time I might be having supper here. I know you are having a good time and making friends, just keep your wits about you at all times... We are all envious so have enough fun for us all.
sorry, charlie (he he) but i am only thinking of you when i am not stressing out about the wedding, which is probably not as often as, say, mary is thinking of you. it doesn't mean i love you any less. i am more or less planning a spa week and huge welcome party for you. it will be awesome. as long as it's not 100 degrees.....
p.s. your blog is great.
