I think the lack of sleep is starting to catch up with me. My señora doesn´t make coffee in the morining and there isn´t a place on the way to school, although there are several starbucks and cafés in the opposite direction.
Yesterday I did take a siesta. It´s so strange to wake up from a nap at 7 pm. 7 is actually a bit late for siesta, but I had been up talking with my roommate. She and I get along pretty well. She´s from San Fransisco, is a year younger than me, and goes to UPenn.
Her native language is Chinese and she didn´t learn English until she was 13, when she moved to the states. She doesn´t have any sort of accent and I never would have guessed she was not a native english speaker. She has only completed one year of beginner spanish at UPenn, but knows so much. The Ivy League usually doesn´t take dummies.
Anyway, since she´s so motivated to become fluent in Spanish, she signed up for an intercambio. This is a student at the universidad de sevilla who wants to improve his spanish. Kind of like a tutor, except you don´t have to have one and you don´t necessarily study.
I joined them last night for an ice cream. He´s single and 25, Soo. Maybe you should just come to Sevilla and meet Félix. After ice cream, the three of us sat in a restaurant for a glass of wine. It´s was interesting and I picked up on things they don´t necessarily teach in the class rooms. Lots of colloquialism phrases and different cultural views. He is a better English speaker than we are Spanish speakers, but we tried. That´s why we´re here.
I haven´t hung out with a ton of the people in the program yet. I need to do that to figure out if I´ll be doing any traveling. Tomorrow we are taking a day trip to the cathedral, which is the largest gothic cathedral in the world. It´s a local trip. This weekend we are going to Málaga, which is where y suitcase supposedly was.
The suitcase really never left Madrid. We called this morning and they should be sending it today or tomorrow. Which is good on account of I don´t like washing my clothes in a sink....
Not sure what I´m up to yet this afternoon. Maybe just walk around, it´s pretty nice out. I need to get some things for school. Soo´s notebook is what I´ve been using for class.
Okay, I have to go back to class. (I wrote most of my entry before it, when I came early, but my computer shut down. Luckily a draft was saved).

You should tag along with the tutor whenever you can, might learn someting and it gives you something to do. Apollo Anton Ono won dancnig with the stars last night, Joey Fatone came in second and Alai(sp?) Ali third. That is the update on the exciting life I lead here.
Char, I'm so jealous. I want to be there right now. Instead I'm at work. Not working.
instead, i am at school sweating my butt off because someone thinks it makes sense to set the AC at 78 degrees. let me know if spanish starbucks tastes any different. do they have the same blends? interesting. i'll keep you updated on idol. last night jordin "blew blake out of the water" according to simon. i tend to agree. you know, without updates from us, i have no idea how you'd keep up with the US pop-culture.
i saw the third largest gothic cathedral in milan. that and a lot of smog and fashionably dressed italians.
don't be like dj from full house who came back from her study abroad with a boyfriend. although, if i remember correctly, that lasted a while.....
