Probably I'm goiing to throw up. I missed dinner tonight because of a shoot over at the art museum, so I stopped at Quiznos on the way home. I really wanted a cookie and sandwich shops usually have big ones that look really good, so I bought one, and it was not very good at all. Hopefully this will deter me from the cookies in the future.
Do you order the same thing at all sandwich shops? I love when people argue which is the better place because I get turkey and my favorite veggies no matter where we go. I'm a creature of habit, I suppose. In Tahoe, when I wasn't in a turkey mood, I went for some chicken thing. Sweet onion teriyaki? Big mistake. Huge.
PS "Teriyaki" is the second word I've had to look up for spelling this post...the first was "museum." There have been countless instances since spelling tests have stopped being a part of my curriculum that I wondered how I managed to be a level one speller. The only conclusion is not that I'm a better speller, but everyone else was worse. It's possible, too, kids pay more attention to things like "'i' before 'e,' except after 'c' and in 'neighbor' and 'weigh.' I still remember a handful of words I had a hard time remembering for those post tests on Fridays. I think I still spell some of them wrong, too.
Kate called tonight to tell me she had a student who looks practically just like me. I'm not sure if that's good or bad. Clearly, the girl was creeped out when Kate not only told her they had the same first name, but Holland was also the last name of her best friend AND she has a 19 year old sister who looks identical to her. That may have been a second week move. But I'm not sure, I'm not the teacher ;)
It's interesting because Katie described her as wearing "jeans and a huge gray sweatshirt." I wasn't thrilled. Obviously I have no fashion sense. And I mean, I wear a lot of t-shirts (but in college EVERYONE does!) but the last two years of my high school career I sort of tried. I did my hair a lot, actually, and I know for a fact I didn't wear sweats one time my senior year. And I'm sure that if Katie showed Student Katie my picture, she'd think "OMG, you think I look like her?!" (That's right, folks, I pulled the "OMG")
In fact, I'd facebook her, but I can only look up college people, I think. The latest from the facebook newsfeed is that 16 of my friends have joined the group "If this reaches 100,000 my girlfriend will have a threesome" (well over 100,000 if you were wondering), 3 of my friends are attending "George's Low Key Birthday Party" (How come I wasn't invited? I don't even know George...) and two of my friends have created a wall conversation that goes back and forth about 6 times in the past two days. My advice - get a phone and save the wall posts.
Mark Zuckerburg, the facebook creater, sent out an apology note about how he is sorry about the new feature. Privacy controls are being updated.
Okay, I'm out, TTYL!
PS Get excited for Big 10 football!

i don't think you have the whole "i" before "e" thing figured out yet. i would know because i spent summer school teaching non-native speakers and that is kind of a tough one. it's about the sounds words like neighbor and weigh make that make them the exception to the rule. this would be much easier to explain if i could italicise anything in this comment box. but i can't.

i felt kind of cool today because toward the end of lunch hour and about ten minutes before my class started there were a few students hanging out in my room!! don't you only go hang out in a teacher's room if they are cool, or suite as some might say?
