I realize exercising is good for your health and everyone should do it 3-5 times a week.

That said, I still feel like I deserve a pat on the back every time I go for a run. Which I did today.

Do not get excited. I am not running the Turkey Trot. Old Dog would kill me, I'm that slow.

----

I am taking an Advanced Television News workshop and I hope very much I will like it because TV News is sort of the field I want to go into. If you didn't know. It's a four hour class, on Fridays. Part of the UIowa's efforts to curb Thursday night drinking. Yeah, right.

My other three classes will round out my Political Science major. Unfortunately, I don't have senior blow off classes (are those real?) because I did not add this major until last year. What did I do with those first two years? I took a lot of business classes.

The Intro to International Relations class that I am enrolled in this semester is now involving statistics to figure out what causes wars. Basically, to make things more difficult, we are using variables - does X cause Y, instead of do territorial disputes cause war. Then, using the ordinary least-squared regression model we find out. Only I don't remember what that is because I didn't go to statistics very often (er, I didn't like it very much).

I keep telling myself A.) This is an intro class - there are freshmen who have NOT taken statistics courses in it. and B.) Don't I have a calculator that can figure that out?

Poli-Sci majors are required to take four introductory level courses in the fiend. As previously noted, I started this major last year so I have taken an intro class each semester. I am taking Intro to American Foreign Policy because it is the only intro I have not taken that fits into my interning schedule. I am impartial.

I have had classes I like in the Political Science department, but not many. I would say that's because I choose my classes based on what fits my schedule rather than subject matter. However, in my experiences subject matter alone cannot make me like a class. It really comes down to the professor. I have had a hard time finding Poli-Sci professors who don't completely turn me off from the material.

Anyway, my extra credit project with my sports blog has been extended another two weeks. I don't really understand the logic behind it. I was in second place today - a girl in my class rallied and had five more comments than me.

So, tell your friends to comment I guess, and feel free to comment again, because you can do that. My professor says he's waiting for the "tipping point" - to see which blog gets over 100 comments and just takes off. I don't really think it will be mine. The other girls' blog appeals both to men and women and asks the general questions are college sports better than professional? I guess if I knew we would spend two weeks building comments I might have chosen another route. I kind of want to give up soliciting hits already.

Sorry for the long post.

This may have been told before...

There was the time as a junior at ND when I signed up for an elective course in "who-knows?" so that I could hang out with a cute girl from St. Mary's who was taking the class...didn't exactly set any attendance records when she came back from Spring break engaged to a hometown honey...and there was the little matter of forgetting to turn in my pass-fail card...and ended up with a D in the class. Not a shining moment in my academic history.
