Happy Birthday Mom and Matt!

I apologize for not updating over break, but I really do hate using the computer at Mom's house. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Mine was marginal. Okay, just kidding. I really had fun, but winter break will be better because I won't have classes to worry about finishing up with.

So a recap-
Friday Mom picked me up from Theta. I brought many things home. We went to Pita Pit and Wal-Mart. Saw some old friends at Whiteys and watched the Da Vinci Code at the twins' house. I hate that move the more I see it.

Saturday, well, lbh, I don't really remember. Susan taught me how to drive a stick shift in the pvhs parking lot. clearly I don't even need to mention I'm a natural. But, this could have been on sunday. There was also some more hanging out with those crazy high school friends. And probably bowling. Yes, there was definitely bowling. And I dusted a bookcase and at my mother's request, moved a tree to the upstairs hallway. See Mom? I help! And susan and I went to the novas. Would it be a trip home if i didn't go to the novas? No. We saw Pirates of the Caribbean 2. It was longer and less funnier than I remember. At least now no one has to buy it for me for christmas :) And somewhere in there kate got a ring.

Monday Mary finally returned from the Windy City, only to have her wisdom teeth pulled out. I got her ice packs and wiped blood out of her hair. And made the infamous mashed potatoes with condensed milk. I don't know why our house never has milk. Anyway, I made enough potatoes the throughout the week to use the entire can. basically I'm the best sister ever.

Tuesday, Vicatin Girl and I went shopping. I got a great dress on sale, retail value $128. Susan even liked it enough to go buy a similar one the next day. We also saw Casino Royale, which I have to say, was just not good. It was too long, action sequences were sub par, and the bond girl sucked.

Wednesday i went bowling, again. I think. maybe it was Tuesday. I don't know. I think my high score was a 76. I blame my lack of bowling skills on my double jointed elbows and on being left handed. Lafever was finally in town. actually, i think this is all on Tuesday. no, maybe not. it doesn't matter. she and i drove out to shads and got lost which was scary in the backgrounds in pitch black. but it was a fun night, anyway.

Thursday I was an active supporter of the horan family trotters. Dinner was great. Mary actually is a dec pastry chef. I made the corn. Shucked it myself and everything. still, it didn't live up to susan's standards.

Friday was shopping and coffee. Clearly, Soo refused to be in a movie and I didn't really want to work with my friends anyway, so I decided Dad and the SB crew would suffice. However, since I waited until after the holidays, I think the crew was fewer than normal. I may have to make a trip back before break to at least get a real interview with Dad.

I didn't get anything really when we went shopping. basically, i just reiterated my point that we can't afford the things i want, so really don't get me anything. Though, I did get a present I'm very excited about, but won't say here. Susan still doesn't know, and, well, someone has to be surprised, right? Also, I bought tights. (I wore them tonight and actually looked very cute (how's that for a positive statement, dad?))

I mean, there's a good chance I went bowling again that night. Probably I didn't break 100. Did coffee again on Saturday. tried to get a new driver's license since I lost mine (surprise, surprise). Interestingly, the dmv was closed friday and saturday for the holiday. I say this is interesting because it is open on Christmas Eve. I would know.

And Mary and I gave Mom her present. An automated light up buck. You know, a lawn decoration. We liked the sea lion, too, but thought it might look silly by itself. It sounds like the buck is up and running and is a hit. Of course, all presents mary and I give are hits, really. Maybe in time mom can have an assorted collection of automated animals in the yard...buck, sea lion, moose, penguin, polar bear... it'll be just like the zoo.

I suppose that means tomorrow is the day to go. Probably I should have gone last Wednesday, the last appropriate day I was free. But I was busy being lazy.

The wedding on Saturday was boring. I didn't know anyone. And I decided that probably I should get a boyfriend if for no other reason to have someone to talk about. Everyone always has news. Engagements, jobs, boyfriends, etc. I never have news. If I had a boyfriend I could talk about him. And if he's a good catch, probably I'd get dinner at a KFC. you just never can tell with boys.

I suppose I have some news. I was slated in a position for Theta next year. It's not the best position in the world, but I suppose someone has to do it. I'm actually pretty positive about it now because Coc has said several things about it to me and also the ELC (I don't really know what it means, but she's a girl who comes and makes sure we're running right) is here this week. She sat in on my transitional meeting with the current risk management chair (thats my job. basically, i stay sober at date parties is. unfortunately, this means I'll have to start finding dates.) anyway, it turns out the girl who was doing it wasn't fulfilling most of her obligations or doing the ones she was supposed to do very well. so i sort of have some motivation to do a good job.

room picks are coming up and i think my roommate is moving up to the third floor with the rest of the juniors. i'd like to move downstairs with a couple of the girls, but i didn't get the invite. we'll see.

also, since i dropped the biz major, I needed some new classes. I'm taking intro to politics, which is a pre req for poli sci majors. plus, mary's taking it. that will be fun. and i mean, I don't want to load up on those classes in case i hate them, so I'm back in spanish.

I think thats everything for now.

TTYL :)

Char. I am a strong supporter of taking classes you like, even if they don't fulfill any sort of requirement. Hello. Scene painting? Set design? It will all work out somehow. I mean. I got a liberal arts degree and look at me. Full time job, with benefits, in an art museum. Be a dreamer Char, be a dreamer :)
