Right now I'm watching 13 going on 30. I'm not a huge Jennifer Garner fan, but I like Mark Ruffalo. Plus, it has a great soundtrack (which the ICPL doesn't have). For instance, right now Whitney Houston's in the background, and in the special features sections there are music videos for Jesse's Girl and some song called Love is a Battlefield. And they are awesome.
The ICPL has a lot of movie soundtracks, and now I've got the one for Love Actually. However, it's has a severe scratch and the Joni Mitchell and the Billy Mack tracks are barely audible. :(
The library music has only a few sections. Country, musicals/soundtracks, jazz, holiday, and then everything else is grouped into pop/rock. It's really hard to find anything - like the Beatles, Bon Jovi, and BSB should not all be in the same category. I can't think straight. I want to get some classic rock, but am easily distracted.
Tonight I brought home Garth and Shania are hits tracks. I like the hits cds because I already know all the songs. I also got the movie Crash. It was pretty good.
Anyway, enough about that.
Dad pretty much gave the DL on Tahoe.
Did he mention the car that replaced the Sonata was a Crown Vic? The summer I was going into 5th and Mary was going into 7th, we had a Crown Vic (Katie was playing basketball?) so Susan could have plenty of room because she didn't want to touch us. Mary puked in the car on the way back to the airport.
I agree with Dad that I wouldn't want to live there. But it's so pretty. Very relaxing. I love the smell of the air. I actually have GoogleEarth on my computer (very addicting), so after navigating my way aerial style through Bettendorf and downtown Chicago, I found Sand Harbor and Uncle Phil's house in Incline.
We didn't go to the beach, and you can say it's my fault for not bringinig a swimsuit if you want, but I didn't think we would have time to go. I don't really have a swimsuit that flatters me at the moment, and if I recall correctly, most of my beach time was spent napping or reading or playing with the kids. Don't get me wrong, I love the beach, but it was a short trip, I just wasn't feeling it. I was glad we got the hike in instead.
The wedding was pretty fun. Dad forgot to mention that the service was hot. Rev Kev did a great job, but I'm pretty sure we were all sweating by the end. Lindsey danced non-stop. Seriously, she was the last one on the floor, dancing how Susan taught her - just like Dad. Yeah, you know the dance.
Skip's kids are all adorable. Olivia and I are pretty much BFF and Jack is nothin' but trouble. He's got this mischievous smile. Phillip, who is 12, spent the weekend trailing some older girls from the Strine side of the wedding.
I like the Horan Clan, but I mean, no one ever marries into a family with kids my age. I'm 10 years younger or 10 years older the two groups. I know I don't have to sit at the kids table, but I'm not really a grown up, either. I mean, even Mary has a grown up job. I don't know anything about politics and talking about school gets old. There's only so much to say. But Tim was at our table, so everyone just argued about sports, games, and competitions anyway. He's not planning on getting married.
Susan was talking to some guy from Warsaw about the pressure that was on her to get married and I tried to tell her there was no pressure on her at all. That's when I figured she'd been over served. I could really tell later on... (sorry Soo, had to say it).
Katie, I don't know if you're getting married or not, but you should give us some warning, for real. Like, so we know for sure to go on our diets to fit in dresses and everything. :)
I keep trying to get up early to run before the heat, but I have yet to be successful at it. I don't like to wait until it's too late because then it gets dark and I don't want to be abducted. There's no way to avoid the heat, I guess. Bix is coming up. I'm registered.
Mom sent me some boxes to start packing. I think it's kind of a crock that I get stuck moving out of the apartment. Two and a half weeks and I go to Theta. Summer has gone by so fast! Only a couple trips home left, lol, I'm sure the fam couldn't be more thrilled.
Anyway, I'm headed to bed. Sorry so lame, maybe something exciting will happen tomorrow.
