here's the thing-
my life is boring and therefore i don't like to blog about it. that includes running - running is boring.
My debit card is my cash. I like to carry it, my drivers license, and a chapstick in my pocket. Mostly this is the case because a) I don't have a purse that I like and b) I only have 2 pairs of pants that are still in the wearable stage of their lives, so I can usually count on my things being where they are supposed to be. Two weeks ago, after sending Mary off to Chi-town and planning my own return to IC, Dad gave me a credit card to charge gas on (it was becoming apparent I would be returning often and my income for the summer will be little to none). He told me not to lose it and wanted to see me put it in a safe place. My pocket. This would be no good. Where did I keep my debit card and license? I pulled them, two dollars and my chapstick out of my pocket. This was definitely no good. I needed a wallet. Clearly.
Thats fine and everything, but you should see the wallet. Since I needed a wallet before we left, I looked around the junk drawer and the choice wallet I came up with is none other than one Dad bought for me himself. When I was five. It's purple velcro with four identical Minnie Mouse's on the front and I picked it out myself at Phar-Mor.
The thing is, this isn't even the funny part. I opened it up to put my money stuffs in and immediately remember Mary carried this wallet her senior year in high school on "Senior Citizen" day during Homecoming spirit week. The reason I know this is that the credit card holders is filled with pictures. Katie, Susan, and, oh, of course Freddie Prinze Jr, Brad Pitt, Joshua Jackson, and James Van Der Beek. Mary, in her jungle green jogging suit and hot pink lipstick, showed these off to her friends (probably pulling the wallet from a fanny pack) as her grand children.
I mean, It cracks me up, probably because the wallet is in my possession, but especially when, for example, the cashier at the kum and go is watching you pull a dollar out of your wallet to pay for your sipper, and has no other choice but to judge me on this purple minnie mouse wallet. And the picture of Freddy Prinze Jr. she sees when I open it up. I'm just lucky I'm not embarrassed easily.
You know why else I'm lucky I'm not embarrassed easily? Because I have a bad case of acne right now. Like, if I saw myself on the street, I would definitely think I was in serious need of Pro-Active. The whole thing is strange because I usually have pretty clear skin. Not flawless, but pretty darn good. And make up just makes this look worse. I mean, I got over it pretty quick because I don't sit around and look at myself in a mirror all day so after I'm done getting ready in the mornings, I just forget about it. Tonight though, when I walked into work, one of the guys asked "what happened to you?" It took me a second, but once I got it I told him it was acne (I know, it's gross) but I just think it's hilarious because then he said "oh, I thought you might have fallen on your face or something."
In other news, my Managerial Accounting teacher is a moron. Gaurentee the reason it took her two years to get a job at a firm is that she came inappropriately dressed to the interview. And not in a provocative way, just not in the tasteful way a classy establishment like, say, Houlihan and Lockey would expect. Or, you know, it could just be the fact that she's a moron.
I'm coming to Bettendorf mostly because it's Father's Day and I'm pretty lame and don't have anything to do here. I kind of wish some friends would come visit.
I think I need to get an iPod. I'll just add it to my birthday list. I mean, it's roughly six months away.
